The 14th APT Policy and Regulatory Forum (PRF-14) was being held from 20th to 22nd May 2014, in Pattaya, Thailand. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) of the Royal Thai Government.

The APT Policy and Regulatory Forum is one of the most important regular high level events of APT. The Forum was attended by senior officials from the ministries and the regulatory authorities. This year’s PRF discussed on preparations for the APT Ministerial Meeting that is planned to be held in September 2014. In addition, it also addressed key regulatory and policy issues of interest and concern to the Asia Pacific region considering the worldwide trends in the telecommunication/ ICT sector.

The PRF-14 included thematic sessions on the following topics and covered wide range of topics related to policy and regulatory issues;

A. Facilitative role of policy maker and regulator: partner for development and social inclusion

B. Regulatory enforcement: the challenges in the data driven digital world

C: Embracing the new digital ecosystem: trends in ICT and their impacts on the next generation policy and regulation.
