Meeting of the SATRC Working Group on Policy, Regulation and Services

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) will organize the Meeting of the SATRC Working Group on Policy, Regulation and Services (WG PRS) from 18 to 19 April 2017 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The meeting will be hosted by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

This meeting is a part of the activities of SATRC Action Plan Phase VI which was adopted by the 17th Meeting of the SATRC (SATRC-17) held in October 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The objective of the meeting is to conduct the Working Group activities on the Work Items assigned by the Council. This meeting will be the first meeting of the Working Group under SATRC Action Plan Phase VI and expected to discuss the Work Items assigned to the Working Group.

The Work Items of WG PRS during the implementation of SATRC Action Plan Phase VI are as follows:

a. Policy and regulatory aspects of infrastructure sharing
b. ICT regulatory framework for M2M communications and IoT for the SATRC countries
c. Enhanced consumer protection in digital economy (taking into account the issues of Cybersecurity, Big Data and Data sovereignty)
d. Regulatory approaches to enhance broadband experiences
e. Regulatory framework for Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO)

The meeting is mainly intended for the experts of the WG PRS who have been nominated earlier by teh SATRC Members.
