Objectives:

• Continue studies on VoIP and Internet Interworking with existing networks
• Continue studies on IPv6 subject, planning to introduce IPv6 migration issues
• Study IPTV subject jointly with the EG NGN
• Study IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and Internet topics relating to NGN to collaborate with the EG NGN as well as to support NGN activities in APT
• Study the subject of Future Internet jointly with other relevant groups
• Study the subject of Cloud Computing jointly with other relevant groups
• Study the subject of Mobile Application Platform jointly with other relevant groups
• Study the subject of Social Networking jointly with other relevant groups
• Collect information on NGN-related activities in standards frameworks/SDOs in the region
• Seek for opportunities to submit regional opinions to global organizations such as ITU, ISO/IEC JTC 1 and IETF

Output/Deliverables:

• Circulate appropriate information to APT members in a timely manner
• Regional opinions/proposals to international groups such as IETF and ITU
• Develop and maintain relationship with international organizations

Working Method:

• The EG activities should be conducted on voluntary basis and by electronic means
• Information/opinions/contributions concerning joint activities including IPTV study should be circulated to both the EG IRT and the EG NGN
• In support of the Plenary, the EG IRT submits its draft ToR as well as draft work scope to the Plenary for approval
• The EG IRT reports its output(s) to the Plenary for approval
• The EG IRT submits its proposal or request, if any, to the Plenary for support
