  The Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) is now in the 25th year of service to its members.   Every year the APT implements several programs to meet the needs of its membership.  The success which the APT is able to achieve is due to the excellent support which the Telecommunity receives from its members. We endeavor to make continued efforts for meeting the needs of the members in the best possible manner.   In order to utilize the expertise of resources of various well wishers of APT, the APT secretariat is establishing a Resource base for such experts who are willing to voluntarily contribute to the APT work from their home or place of working.  The volunteer expert may choose one or more areas of interest from the following APT programs and activities:
  • Policy and Regulations
  • Radio Communications
  • Broadband Technologies
  • International Mobile Telecommunications
  • Standardization
  • Technical development
  • Information infrastructure
  • Human resource development
  • Business issues
  • Information Communication Technology
  • Study Groups
  • Others
The input from such volunteers could be in the shape of:
  • Report on a study
  • An article for an appropriate APT publication
  • An Opinion document on a topic of current interest to the APT members
  • A Project proposal
  • An Information document or an Information note
  • Presentation in the subject of expertise
  • A voluntary contribution to an APT work program such as the Study Groups
  • A debate on a current topic using the APT bulletin board
  • Statistical data on various subjects
  • Advice on current issues
  • etc.  
The main objective to create this data base is to maintain a close relationship with the experts and to utilize the voluntary contribution as a service to the members of the APT. Normally due to the budgetary constraints it may not be possible for the APT to offer any financial compensation for the voluntary work.  However, the APT will try to ensure that the work does not cause any financial strain to the experts.  The APT will gratefully recognize their contribution at the relevant place.

 

WHO WILL BE THE VOLUNTEER
  • The volunteership is open to any individual of any age group whose name is sponsored for this purpose by any APT member. 
  • Persons who have been associated with the work of APT and have retired from active service are welcome to join the group.
