The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) has launched its Asia-Pacific Telecommunity Standardization Program (ASTAP) in February 1998 to promote & coordinate expert activity in telecommunications standardization across the Asia-Pacific region. ASTAP's main objectives are:
ASTAP consists of a Chairman and two Vice-Chairmen one for Organization and Working Methods and the other for Industry Relations, and Rapporteurs and Associate Rapporteurs for the various Expert Groups.
ASTAP Advisory Board : ASTAP also has an Advisory Board which provides strategic guidance and advice to ASTAP Office Bearers on ASTAP work activities. Working Groups/Expert Groups: Currently there are 7 Working Groups and 10 Expert Groups who report directly to the Chairman. Working Groups

Click here to download Registration Form for ASTAP Membership Joint Expert Groups For efficiency and due to the inter-relationship between their work areas, many ASTAP Expert Groups are now meeting jointly under the banner of Joint Expert Groups (JEGs). Currently there are three JEGs namely: It is anticipated that the individual EGs will continue to meet within the framework of the JEG structure for future ASTAP Forums.
