Disaster Management Communication System Expert Group (DMCS)

Objectives
The Group on Disaster Management Communication System (DMCS) was established to:

• Investigate the actual conditions, communications circumstances and needs concerning the systems for transmitting emergency information to residents in case of disaster occurrences in the Asian-Pacific region.
• Study and discuss ways to develop an adequate disaster prevention radio system for the Asia- Pacific region based on these investigations.
• Discuss the standardization activities necessary for disaster prevention radio systems in the Asia-Pacific region through these activities.
• Prepare contributions to ITU-R.
• Publicise and promote the disaster prevention radio systems in the Asia-Pacific region.
