The principle organs of the Telecommunity are:
The General Assembly
The supreme organ of the APT, composed of all the
Members and Associate Members, which ordinarily meets every three
years, establishes general policies and principle to achieve the
objectives of the Telecommunity, fixes the basis for the annual
budgets and limits of expenditure, concludes and revises necessary
agreements etc.
The General Assembly elects a President and two
Vice Presidents at each ordinary session. For the current term,
the office bearers are:
- President: Maj.Gen.(R) Shahzada Alam Malik - Pakistan
- Vice President:
Mr. Charles Punaha -Papua New Guinea
- Vice President:
Mr. Tin Htwe -Myanmar
The Management
Committee
Composed of all Members and Associate Members which
meets once a year. It pursues the polices and principles of the
General Assembly, and supervises the Secretariat's function, reviews
and approves work program, annual budget and accounts and draws
up regulations, etc.
The Management Committee elects a Chairman and
two Vice Chairmen every two years. The present office bearers are:
- Chairman: Mr. Bistamam Siru Abdul Rahman, Malaysia
- Vice Chairman: Mr. Ahmad Pourangnia, Iran
- Vice Chairman: Mr. Mohamed Amir, Maldives
