APT Ministerial Conference on Broadband and ICT development

 

APT Ministerial Conference on Broadband and ICT development was held in Bangkok from 1 to 2 July 2004 to coincide with the Silver Jubilee of the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity. The objective of the Conference was to adopt the Bangkok Agenda for the development of Broadband and ICT in the APT Region taking into consideration of the Asia-Pacific Summit on Information Society, Tokyo , 2000 and Declaration and Action Plan of the WSIS 2003.

The conference was hosted by the Royal Government of Thailand and was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee Minister of Information and Communication Technology of Thailand. It was attended by 224 delegates including one Prime Minister, twelve Ministers and nine Deputy/Vice Ministers, associate members, affiliate members and regional and international organizations.
