Seminar on up-gradation of Existing Networks to accommodate Broadband

The 24th APT Study Group Meeting was held from 11 to 14 August 2004 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The main objective of this meeting was to review the progress of the studies made so far, take up new study questions and develop strategies for result oriented and efficient completion of studies. Additional 14 Study Questions were taken up during this meeting making total number of questions of this cycle 42. Study of 21 Questions have been completed. Seminar on Interconnection & Dispute Resolution was held on 15 August 2004. The objective of this seminar was to share the interconnection disputes resolution mechanism employed in the regions and develop resource kit for dispute resolution.

Seminar on up-gradation of Existing Networks to accommodate Broadband was held on 16 August 2004. The objective of this seminar was to share the migration strategy adopted by this region to provide broadband service through up-gradation of existing network, discuss different technological option available and develop guidelines for the migration.
