The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) organized the First APT Preparatory Meeting for the ITU World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly 2004 (WTSA-2004), which was hosted by Australian Communications Authority (ACA).  The meeting was held from 15 to 16 March 2004 at the Clarendon Ballroom of the Sheraton Towers Southgate in Melbourne, Australia. 

The meeting considered regional issues for WTSA 2004, discussed the work of the four ASTAP Correspondence Groups, and considered the preparation of possible common APT proposals to the July 2004 TSAG or WTSA 2004.
