APT organized the Asia-Pacific Meeting on WSIS Implementation and Preparation for APT Ministerial Conference from 29 to 31 March 2004 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Objectives

The regional meeting was organized in accordance with the Geneva Declaration and Plan of Action adopted at the first phase of the World Summit on the Information Society 2003 held in Geneva.

The meeting agenda discussed were the following:

	Key aspects of its implementation among the APT Member countries,
	APT activities concerning the Declaration of Principles and Plan of Action adopted at the first phase of the WSIS,
	APT approach for the second phase of the summit to be held in Tunisia in 2005,
	Preparation for the coming APT Ministerial Conference on Broadband and ICT Development,
	Discussion of the draft Bangkok Agenda to be adopted by the Ministerial Conference to be held from 1-2 July, 2004 in Bangkok.
