The 2nd Meeting of the APT Wireless Forum (AWF) is going to be held from 5 - 8 September 2005, and APT Workshop on "RFID in Ubiquitous Environment" to be held on 9 September 2005 in Shenzhen, People's Republic of China. The events are organized by the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and hosted by the Ministry of Information Industry (MII), Peoples Republic of China.

The AWF is covering the various aspects emerging wireless systems to meet the upcoming digital convergence era for the Asia Pacific Region. In its' 2nd meeting the AWF would report and present its activities and progress in the AWF workprograms up to date. The meeting will assist the process of bringing the cost effective telecommunication and information infrastructure to the developing countries of Asia-Pacific region through introducing various emerging radiocommunication technologies.

The objective of the workshop on "RFID in Ubiquitous Environment" is to introduce and promote the potentiality of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, a key enabler of the Ubiquitous Network Environment. The workshop would discuss the RFID technology trends, standards, regulation and applications in context of the Asia-Pacific Region.
