The APT Regional Workshop on Standardization

The APT Regional Workshop on Standardization was held from 6 –8 September 2005 at Thimphu, Kingdom of Bhutan. The workshop was implemented through the support of the Government of Japan under its Extra Budgetary Contribution (EBC-J) to the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) which organized the workshop and hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) by the Royal Government of Bhutan.

The objectives of the workshop were:

to gain knowledge in the administration, the organization and the standardization activities of telecommunications and ICT in Japan
to gain knowledge on the recent technologies in the field of telecommunications and ICT in Japan
to gain knowledge on standardization activities of ITU and other organizations
to make proposals and the improvement on the standardization activities in the field of telecommunications and ICT in participants’ countries
