The Regional Workshop on e-Government was held in Hanoi, Socialist Republic (S.R.) of Vietnam from 24 to 25 February 2005. The workshop was organized jointly by Asia-Pacific Telecommunity and hosted by the Ministry of Posts and Telematics (MPT) of the S. R. of Vietnam. This Workshop was supported by the Extra Budgetary Contribution from Japan.

The objectives of this event were to bring governments, private sector, international organization and other regional stakeholders together to exchange information and to enhance cooperation of all stakeholders in promoting e-Government in the Asia-Pacific region.
