The APT Regional Workshop on Standardization

The APT Regional Workshop on Standardization was held from 2 – 4 February 2005 at the Lao Plaza Hotel in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The objectives of the Workshop are:

to gain knowledge in the administration, the organization and the standardization activities of telecommunications and ICT in Japan
to gain knowledge on the recent technologies in the field of telecommunications and ICT in Japan.
to gain knowledge on standardization activities of ITU
to make proposals and the improvement on the standardization activities in the field of telecommunications and ICT in participants’ countries.

The Workshop attended by 54 participants from APT Members, Affiliate members and Officials and staff of the Ministry of Communications, Transports, Posts and Construction of Lao PDR Government which was the host, and Experts from Japan. The workshop was implemented through the support of the Government of Japan under its Extra Budgetary Contribution (EBC-J) to the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity which organized the workshop.
