Asia-Pacific Telecommunication and ICT Development Forum (ADF)

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunication and ICT Development Forum (ADF) was held in Chennai, India from July 10 to 14, 2006.
The Forum objectives are:
- To follow-up the implementation of Bangkok Agenda and Strategic Plan of the APT 2006-2008 that were adopted at the Ministerial Conference on Broadband and ICT Development last July 2004 and at the 10th Session of the General Assembly in December 2005 respectively;
- To identify the specific issues that hinder the development of the telecomm networks in rural areas and discuss the appropriate use of new technologies available for rural telecom development and to improve the network quality of service and to suggest a way forward; and
- To promote the development of telecommunication and ICT Infrastructure by sharing the results of the research projects implemented under the APT HRD Programme for Exchange of ICT Engineers and Researchers.
