Third Preparatory Meeting for PP-06

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) organized a Third Preparatory Meeting for PP-06, which will be held from 4 to 6 July, 2006 at Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The aim of the meeting was to finalize draft APT Common Proposals (ACPs) and APT Joint Proposals (AJPs) for submission to ITU.

The ITU Plenipotentiary Conference is the top policy-making body of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and PP-06 is scheduled to take place from 6 to 24 November 2006 in Antalya, Turkey. The First APT Preparatory Meeting which was held on 18th June, 2005 in Singapore was successful in establishing the five Correspondence Groups(CGs), Working Procedures and Time Table towards the preparation for PP-06. Since the first preparatory meeting we have received contributions from the CGs including related Issues papers. The Second preparatory meeting discussed the Issues papers developed by the CGs, the comments received on the issues paper and developed preliminary APT Common Proposals.

The Third preparatory meeting discussed the Progress Report of APT Preparations for PP-2006, Reports of Correspondence Groups (CGs) Rapporteurs including proposed draft APT Common Proposals (ACPs) and other Reports from other regions on PP-06 Preparations.
