Ninth South Asian Telecommunications Regulators’ Council (SATRC) Meeting
SATRC Workshop on Licensing in Convergence/APT Youth Programme

Tthe Ninth SATRC Meeting and SATRC Workshop on Licensing and the APT Youth Programme will be held from 10 to 14 December, 2007 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The main objectives of the 9th SATRC meeting are:

• To convene a meeting of SATRC to address key policy and regulatory issues.
• To assist in information dissemination, information exchange and sub regional harmonization on regulatory issues in the region.
• Identified the key issues that need to be addressed under the SATRC Action Plan (Phase-II).
• To identify the implementation mechanism of the SATRC Action Plan (Phase-II) and its projects.
• Obtain approval for the contributions towards the SATRC Fund for activities under the SATRC Action Plan (Phase-II).

The SATRC Workshop on Licensing for Convergence is a part of the implementation of the SATRC projects under the SATRC Action Plan. The Workshop will assist the Regulatory bodies of member countries in their human resource development needs for acquiring knowledge and skills in regulatory matters. While the SATRC workshop on Licensing is planned for middle level executives, the presence of Heads of Regulatory Authority of SATRC members are expected to attend the 9th meeting of the SATRC.
