Workshop on Telecommunications Trade Rules and Regulatory Disciplines
The
Workshop on Telecommunications Trade Rules and Regulatory Disciplines was held from 20 to 22 November 2007in
Indonesia.
This important Workshop was hosted by the Directorate General of Posts and
Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Indonesia,
and supported by the Extra Budgetary Contribution from Australia.
The objective of the Workshop is to provide background & an understanding of GATS and
telecommunications, comparisons of WTO & FTA obligations and perspectives on multilateral and
bilateral telecommunications negotiations. It is essentially a training program to enable
participants to be better placed to understand and undertake telecommunications trade
negotiations.
