APT POLICY AND REGULATORY FORUM
26-28 May 2008, Republic of Maldives
At the invitation of the Government of Republic of Maldives, the APT Policy and Regulatory Forum will be held from 26 to 28 May 2008 in the Republic of Maldives.
The objectives of the Forum are:
- To provide an opportunity for dialogue among Members and sharing of experiences on policy and regulation.
- To bring out and address some of the key emerging issues.
- To discuss the challenges faced by our Members at policy and regulatory level.
- To review the outcomes of the 8th Global Symposium for Regulators (March, 2008) and highlight the key issues that are of importance for our region.
The PRF is an annual event addressing key regulatory and policy issues of interest and concern to the Asia Pacific region. The Forum aims to provide APT members with an update of regulatory information and techniques, focusing on a range of topics that have been identified. These topics include; Regulatory Implications on ICT Infrastructure Development, Convergence: Seamless Connectivity, Regulation of IPTV, IP Based Licensing, Regulators Role in Facilitating Consumer Interest in ICT, Destructive Elements of IP Based Communications: Security and Spam issues.
The Forum will be attended by top policy makers, heads of regulatory authorities and other eminent experts from the Asia Pacific region. In this connection, I have the pleasure to invite senior level officials who are involved in Telecommunication Policy and Regulation from your Administration/Organization to participate in the Forum
