28th APT Study Groups Meeting,
07 - 09 July 2008, Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran

The 28th APT Study Group Meeting which will be held from 7 to 9 July 2008 at the Hotel Homa in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran.  The meeting is being organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity and hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Islamic Republic of Iran.

The objectives of the 28th Study Group Meeting are to discuss the progress of the study and approve the final reports of the study questions for study cycle 2008 – 2009 and to undertake new study questions for the present study cycle. For the Study Cycle 2008 – 2009 four individual study groups are working under APT Study Group:

• Study Group 1:      Telecommunication / ICT Strategies and Policies
• Study Group 2:      Infrastructures and Networks
• Study Group 3:      Application, Operation and User Issues
• Study Group 4:      Broadband and Future Technologies

All APT Members, Associate Members, Affiliate Members, International/Regional Organizations and, particularly, Study Group Office Bearers can attend this meeting by completing the attendance form attached to this invitation letter.To enable us to make the necessary arrangements concerning the organization of the meeting, kindly send names and designations of your delegates along with their completed attendance forms (one per participant), specifying flight details, to APT Secretariat at email: aptsg@apt.int or fax: +66 2573 7479 / +66 2574 4226.  Last date for submission of your attendance forms is on Friday, 20th June 2008.  The Secretariats may not be able to guarantee hotel reservation after the closing date.  Please check the participant’s information for detailed information on participation.

Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Islamic Republic of Iran will organize a two days (10 and 11 July 2008) recreation trip to the historical city of Isfahan. All transportations and accommodations for the recreation trip will be sponsored by the Ministry. You are kindly requested to indicate your preference to join the trip on the Attendance Form. Also, you are requested to plan your travel plan and flight schedule  accordingly.

Contributions from APT members, associate members, affiliate members, regional and international organization are welcome for the meetings.  You are requested to use the proper document template for your contribution.  Document templates for all meetings are available at the meeting website.  Contributions will be posted on APT Website prior to the starting of the meetings.  Last date of receipt your contributions by APT Secretariat is Wednesday, 2nd July 2008. All participants from abroad need visa to travel to Islamic Republic of Iran.  Please contact the Iranian Embassy in your country for the visa information. If you need visa supporting letter please contact APT Secretariat as well as contact point in Iran. Please be informed that it may take considerable time for visa processing to travel to Iran.
