The Policy and Regulation Forum for Pacific

The Policy and Regulation Forum for Pacific will be held from 27-29 April 2010 in Honiara ,  Solomon Islands . This forum will be held in conjunction with the PITA AGM thus providing the greatest interaction between operators and regulators.

The main objectives of the meeting are:

• To facilitate the progress of the decisions taken at the APT 's Telecommunication ICT Policy and Regulation Meeting for Pacific 2009 at Nadi, Fiji;
• To adopt measures to accelerate telecom and ICT infrastructure development (particularly broadband) and promote e-applications;
• To exchange information and share ideas in a common platform among the Pacific Island Countries;
• To address key Policy and Regulatory concerns for Pacific ;
• To further the implementation of a Pacific ICT Resource centre;
• To consider best practices and further develop regulatory frameworks for Pacific island Countries.
