30 Years of Telecom Co-operation

The APT is a unique organization of Governments, telecom service providers, manufactures of communication equipment, research & development organizations and other stake holders active in the field of communication and information technology. APT serves as the focal organization for communication and information technology in the Asia Pacific region.

Through its various programmes and activities, APT has made a significant contribution to the growth of the ICT sector especially the telecommunications sector in the Asia Pacific region. The APT now has 34 Members, 4 Associate Members and 118 Affiliate Members.

The Forum on IPTV Standards will be held in Singapore from 8 to 10 February , 2010. The forum is being organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and to be hosted by the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore with the support of the extra budgetary contribution from the Government of Japan.

The objective of the forum is to provide an opportunity to staff and engineers of telecommunications administrations and companies in the Asia-Pacific region to share information relevant to policymaking and related activities in the field of standardization of IPTV.

In the forum, the participants will discuss topics which include standardization activities in our members, overview of latest trends in IPTV in the countries with an IPTV service and a group discussion organized by a moderator and speakers mainly from private companies. Exhibitions given by our members are also being planned during the event.
