4th Conformance and Interoperability (C&I) Event

The APT and the ITU ointly organized the 4th Conformance and Interoperability (C&I) Event 2016 from 13 to 17 November 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. This C&I Event included testing and showcasing, and was held during ITU Telecom World 2016 which was held from 14 to 17 November 2016 at the same venue.


Objectives

The objective of the APT/ITU Conformance and Interoperability (C&I) Event is to foster understanding and promote activities on C&I in the APT region. The event will also directly contribute to capability building and finding a solution for interoperability issues of APT member countries.

 

The  testing  part  included  conformance  and/or  interoperability  test  of  the products which are based on the ITU-T Recommendations. Manufacturers and service providers are encouraged to bring their products and participate to check interoperability. The results of the interoperability testing can be shared among the participants of interoperability testing with bilateral agreement bases, such as non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). It could cover technologies and services such as:

-     IPTV (including IPTV-MAFR (Multimedia Application Framework))

 

The showcasing part was a demonstration of the emerging products made by participating manufacturers and research institutes. This part aims to underscore advanced technologies and ongoing standards work at ITU-T. There also may be a way to show promotion videos of demonstrations on TV monitors. It could cover technologies and services such as:

a)   IMS/NGN interworking

b)   Future Transport Network

c)   M2M/ IoT/ e-Health

d)   FTTH (GPON and GEPON)

e)   IPTV/internet TV f NGN E2E service

g)   SDN/NFV

h)   Transition from existing network to NGN/Future Networks.
